Emergency Alert System (Main Campus Only)

The TCAT Memphis Main Campus is equipped with an emergency notification system that can be utilized during an active shooter event. The system uses flashing blue lights and sirens when activated and provides a portal for employees to provide any updates they can. The system will also take over wall mounted monitors that are found in hallways and public areas to provide second-by-second updates as they are entered into the system.

• Open the website shortcut with your TCAT computer or your mobile device (faculty/staff only). Check for updates

• If you are safe, continue to monitor the website for updates

• Listen for chaotic sounds or gunshots

• Determine if your area is being threatened

• If threatened, run, hide, fight. If your area has an exterior exit, exit the building and leave the campus on foot

• If your area does not have direct exterior access, shelter in place. Silence your phone and use the website for      updates and instructions

• Hallway digital signs will display updates in the system as well
